What is a Total Resource Campaign (TRC)?

Total Resource Campaigns (TRCs) are annual volunteer-driven marketing campaigns where a chamber or non-profit sells memberships, marketing, sponsorships, and other services in one package during an abbreviated fundraising period. TRCs rely heavily on personal and team-based incentives to recruit and mobilize volunteers in the fundraising effort.

Why should we conduct a Total Resource Campaign (TRC)?

Given the extraordinary challenges that non-profit executives face today, many Chambers of Commerce, non-profits, and economic development organizations are increasingly relying on Total Resource Campaigns (TRCs) to increase revenue. A TRC allows an organization to raise revenue without any financial risk. Since 1994, Fremont client campaigns have generated more than $220 million to numerous clients across the United States.

What makes a Total Resource Campaign successful?

A Total Resource Campaign is successful due to many components: company teams, incentives, multiple products, high goals, and top leadership involvement. Success depends on a cohesive, highly motivated and well trained group of volunteers. By recruiting 20 to 30 teams, rather than just individuals, your campaign will succeed because it infuses a competitive spirit to win. Similarly, developing cash incentives to reward volunteers as they produce ensures that your campaign goal will be met. Creating a large inventory is also important. High goals are important as long as they are achievable, but challenging. Finally, top leadership is attracted to participate in the campaign because the organization is accomplishing something important.

What is examined during a Feasibility Analysis?

While each engagement is different, generally our campaign feasibility studies can answer the following questions:

  • How much should be raised and what’s the right time length for the campaign?

  • Are there sufficient prospective donors to fund our campaign projects?

  • Will our donors find our fundraising campaign projects compelling enough to donate?

  • Do we have the support of our board and volunteers to participate in our fundraising campaign?
