Gerald L. Bartels, Senior Principal
Jerry co-founded The Fremont Development Group, Inc. in 1994 with Neil Mabry.  Together, they have built Fremont into the leading full-service fund raising firm in the nation for chambers of commerce and economic development organizations providing consulting in Total Resource Development, capital campaigns and sales force development.

Prior to founding Fremont, Bartels was president of chambers of commerce in Metro Atlanta; Jacksonville, FL; Greenville, SC, and Macon, GA.  During his 14 years with the Metro Atlanta Chamber, over 1 million new jobs were created, the 1996 Olympics were held, Centennial Olympic Park was developed, the Peach Bowl was acquired, a new $12 million chamber headquarters was built, and the Chamber grew its membership to 7,500 and income to over $15 million.  One of the earliest to earn the Certified Chamber Executive designation, he has served in many leadership roles with ACCE including chairman of the Board in 1983-84.  He has also served as president of the Southern Association of Chamber Executives, the Georgia and South Carolina Association of Chamber Executives and the Georgia Institute for Organization Management in Athens, GA.  He is an honorary life member of ACCE and the National Association of Membership Development, now consolidated with ACCE.

Neil G. Mabry, Senior principal
Prior to co-founding Fremont, Mabry served 13 years as senior vice president of development for the Metro Atlanta Chamber and was instrumental in driving the growth of that Chamber.  Known as an innovator, the Total Resource Campaign (TRC) concept was originated during those years.  Atlanta TRC campaigns grew from $456,000 in 1984 to $4,769,612 in 1996.  Under his direction at Fremont, over 225 successful TRC campaigns for 80 chambers have been conducted raising more than $250 million. Mabry honed his fund raising skills in similar positions at the Jacksonville,FL, Charlotte, NC, and Norfolk, VA chambers prior to his service in Atlanta. 

Neil also served as Treasurer of the Peach Bowl, Inc., Executive Vice President at Memorial Health and Research Foundation at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, and was the past director of the National Association of Membership Development.

P. Richard Berlin, Senior Principal
Prior to joining Fremont, Richard worked for Accenture, a $19B consulting firm, in their Management Consulting practice specializing in Organizational Change & Effectiveness and Strategy. His work there included serving as the Change Management lead for an $80M engagement with the State of Ohio, designing and executing the Leadership Development program at the Goizueta Business School of Emory University, and designing a new $5B business strategy for a Fortune 100 Retailer.

Before his work with Accenture, Richard was Chief Operating Officer at Hands On Network, an international non-profit based in Atlanta. In this role, Richard held P&L accountability, managed a staff of 40, developed the annual strategic plan, fostered strategic alliances, and supported ongoing operational initiatives.

Richard also served as Director Of External Programs & Alliances at the Technology Association of Georgia, a non-profit business chamber headquartered in Atlanta. In this role, he managed liaison relationships with numerous other non-profit organizations like SCORE, Boys and Girls Club, and the Southeastern Software Association. Prior to his work at the Technology Association of Georgia, Richard was Vice President/General Manager of Verso Technologies eProcurement group where he launched an eCommerce business unit to the mid-Fortune 1000 market. Richard began his career as an Attorney focusing on serving clients in the areas of commercial business litigation, real estate law, and bankruptcy law. After practicing law for several years, he returned to school to gain an MBA.

Mary Wilson, Senior Principal
Prior to joining Fremont, Mary was the Vice President, Operations & Development Services at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation.  In this role, she was responsible for conducting strategic planning, leading fundraising efforts and managing operations.  Before joining Children’s Healthcare, Mary served as the Chief Financial Officer for three nonprofits in Atlanta:  The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and Hands on Network.  Her responsibilities included managing operations, strategic planning, fund raising and finances.   Mary held senior financial position in two publicly traded companies: Marubeni, Japanese multi-national and a division of the Dial corporation.

She is also an adjunct professor teaching courses in accounting, finance, economics and management including leadership in nonprofits. She authored an article Leading Change in a Performing Arts Organization which was presented at St. Mary’s University and it was published in the school’s  on-line leadership journal.

Mary has served on the planning committee for the annual Nonprofit Conference sponsored by the American Society of Certified Public Accountants which had approximately 750 attendees.  Currently, Mary serves on the board of the Georgia Planned Giving Council and holds the position of Treasurer.  Mary has a US Patent for Analytical Approaches for Revenue Enhancement in non-profits.

Mary is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE),  and has more than 25 years of senior financial management experience.  She received her MAcc, Masters in Accounting, from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, an MBA in Economics & Management and BS in Business Administration from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. Tiffany Fulmer, Associate Principal
Tiffany joined Fremont in 1997 and has been instrumental in the early stages of Fremont’s formation and development.  After engagements with Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) and Security First Network Bank (now Royal Bank of Canada), she returned to Fremont in 2001.  She is intimately familiar with all phases of the Total Resource Campaign (TRC) system and is able to transfer her knowledge and experience to Fremont clients.  Prior to joining Fremont, she was associated with the Metro Atlanta Chamber during the 1994-96 TRC campaigns each of which produced over $4 million.
